Why are you serving as a Trustee? Board member Curtis Keifer and BCHS volunteer Walter Frankel asked me to join and I appreciate their community involvement and decided it sounded interesting and fun. I am a Corvallis native so I want to support my community.

Why are you serving as a Trustee? As a young boy, I often visited the Horner Museum in Corvallis. I enjoyed this experience very much, and I would like others to have a similar opportunity, especially young kids that don't have an opportunity to have experiences outside of this area.

Why are you serving as a Trustee? I strive to participate in community activities and developed an interest in the museum when my wife was on the board and "volunteered" me for a committee. I felt my professional skills and knowledge could be of use as the society is moving forward with development of the Collections Care Facility and new Corvallis facility.

Retired as Dean of Institutional Advancement and Executive Asst. to the President at LBCC and Executive Director of the LBCC Foundation. For 26 of the 28 years at LBCC I worked in Instruction including 10 years as Director of the Benton Center. I was also Interim VP of Instruction and Dean of Student Services and Extended Learning. Held a total of 15 positions. In 1987-88 I was Founding President of Oregon Coast Community College (first woman community college president in Oregon).

Jo Anne Trow
Career Profile: Resident of Corvallis since 1965 when she joined Student Affairs Office at OSU. Originally from Ohio, she holds degrees from Denison University, Indiana University, and Michigan State University. She worked in student affairs before coming to Oregon. She was OSU's last Dean of Women and its first female Vice President.

Why are you serving as a Trustee?I have a lifelong interest in history and have taught the subject on a number of occasions. As a Benton County native, I am particularly interested in the preservation and extension of knowledge about the county's and the state's past. I was initially a History major at OSU, although I took my degree in Speech and Theatre Education.

It is a particularly interesting and challenging time to join the Board as the Museum and the Society launch the drive to build the new museum building in Corvallis to house the collection and complement the wonderful Philomath facilities. This is a once-in-a-century opportunity for the community and the Society to build a lasting landmark for the county.
