Dancing Paintbrushes
Oct 7-Nov 26
Benton County Museum presents a juried exhibition of acrylic paintings by Donna Beverly, "Caradon" and students of her "Dancing Paintbrushes" art classes. The exhibition will be open from October 7 - November 26, 2011 at the Benton County Historical Museum in Philomath, Oregon. Please join us for an opening reception on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 5:00-7:00pm.
Donna is a full time artist and art workshop teacher, living in Philomath, Oregon. "My paintings are my journal in brush markings. They are attempts at poetry in color, with brevity or exuberance I seek to capture an essence, a bit of autobiography in value and contrasts. My paintings are tokens of experiencing and responding to the moment", says Donna.
Caradon is a collaborative art experience by Carolee Clark and Donna Beverly. The artists reflect "We each start a painting, and then switch paintings. ln these early stages we have complete freedom to change and work on the painting in any manner we wish. When the work is nearing completion, we begin to work more closely, carefully and honestly critiquing the painting until we agreed that it is finished and at a very high quality, allowing the Caradon signature."
