| A powder horn is a container for carrying gunpowder; frequently they are made of the hollow horn of an animal. This powder horn was given by Ovid Boone (brother of Daniel Boone) to Elijah Oliver, upon his marriage to Ovid's daughter, Catherin Boone, around 1800. Before that time it was in the Boone family. It was donated to the Horner museum in 1934. |
