We are grateful to the foundations who are providing financial support to build the new museum. These gifts acknowledge the cultural and community value of the project, and we would like to share our sincere appreciation.
You may have seen the reports in the media of our grant of $40,000 from the Oregon Cultural Trust. This grant, the maximum amount given, was one of eight made by the Trust to organizations around the state, including OPB, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Portland Japanese Garden and Portland Center Stage. We are thrilled that this statewide organization recognizes the value of our Benton County efforts.
We encourage you to add the Trust to your list of donation recipients, especially since you can get the money back at tax time. Learn more at culturaltrust.org.
The Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund, headquartered in neighboring Lincoln County has given us a grant of $1,500 to purchase furniture for the education room in the Corvallis museum. Members of the Tribe and their consultants visited the Philomath museum campus earlier this year to draw on our experience and learn of our plan.
