The BCHS Library houses a large collection of Benton County and Pacific Northwest research materials. Each year hundreds of scholars, genealogists, students, owners of historic homes, land use planners and the curious find answers to their questions in the Library's non-circulating collection. The Library's PastPerfect™ data base provides access to the Library's extensive collection of documents, photographs, architectural plans, books, newspapers, family genealogies, maps and other Benton County related materials.
There is no fee at present for using the Library. There are fees, however, for services such as photocopying and image reproduction. Mail and email inquiries will be answered if the research required to provide a response is not time-consuming. If you have a complex request, please break it down into a number of individual questions.
Since volunteers assist in answering research requests and their schedules vary, we are unable to respond instantly. The staff of the BCHS can also assist with more extensive research; the rate is $25 per hour.
