“Why a Cold War? The U.S., the World, and the Rise of the Cold War”

Professor Nichols will examine how and why the Cold War began in the years immediately following WW II. The emphasis will be on some of the most important US doctrines and strategies from the 1940s and ‘50s, as well as events in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
All lectures start at 10 a.m. in the Moreland Gallery at the museum in Philomath.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and pre-lecture coffee is served in the gallery from 9:30 to 10:00 am. Lectures are free to members; non-member fee is $5 per lecture.
