“Massacre and Mistreatment: the 19th Century Chinese Experience in the Northwest”
This slide presentation and lecture by Oregon author, Greg Nokes, gives the history of the 1887 massacre of the Chinese gold miners in Hells Canyon and the campaign to drive the Chinese out of the American West.
All lectures start at 10 a.m. in the Moreland Gallery at the museum in Philomath.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and pre-lecture coffee is served in the gallery from 9:30 to 10:00 am. Lectures are free to members; non-member fee is $5 per lecture.
