Free, family-friendly educational fun offered monthly beginning in January 2020. Kids Day at the Philomath Museum brings history to life through storytelling, exhibit scavenger hunts, and fun hands-on activities. Kids Days are for children ages 5-10, their families and friends to explore the new exhibit through engaging activities offered by museum education volunteers and community partners. Storytelling begins at 1pm and 2pm and is made possible thanks to the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library . Come explore, learn, and make meaningful connections together!
Come hear stories of travel and adventure, learn about tools early settlers used, the work they did, and games they played. Go on an exhibit scavenger hunt, exploring the art of work! See how pioneers built the Star of Oregon, the first ship constructed in Oregon. Learn the art of origami to build your own boat. Imagine you are planning a journey by boat or covered wagon. What do you need to bring? How much weight can you haul? Try fitting cargo into a miniature Oregon trail wagon.
