Kay Sagmiller
A Sense of Belonging: linking schools to museums

In this presentation, Dr. Sagmiller looks briefly at the common core teaching standards and identifies the types of museum activities that capture the attention of public school students. Linking students to local museums supports their concept of place, historically and geographically, and is central to identity development. Since different learners have different learning needs, Sagmiller explores the key strategies to relate a museum experience for each age group. Dr. Sagmiller is the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Oregon State University.

Lectures are free to members and $5 per lecture for non-members. Tell your friends to join the Society as individual members for $25 and attend all lectures free of charge.
