“Oregon’s Island in the Sky: The Geological Story of Marys Peak”
Robert J. Lillie will draw on his experience as a photographer, graphic illustrator and park ranger to tell the geologic story of the tallest peak in the Coast Range
and its connection to Oregon’s natural and cultural history. From volcanic eruptions on an ancient seafloor, to powerful forces between tectonic plates, to the
durability of hard intrusive rock, a journey up Marys Peak is like visiting an island in the sky.
