More hands-on discovery for children and families

Children and families from Benton County and beyond will find exhibitions, field trips and family programs at the new Corvallis museum.  For many students, a school field trip is the first museum experience they will have.  There's simply no digital substitute for the thrill of seeing real museum objects up close and first-hand.  Weekends at the museum will feature hands-on art projects, storytelling in the courtyard, and a chance to look back in time to the early days of county history.

The BCHS has ten history trunks that feature artifacts and stories around different themes such as The Original Kalapuya Residents, The Oregon Trail, Nineteenth Century Games, Nineteenth Century Clothing, and more. Docents meet with school groups and bring these stories to life.
